The Her Lands Meditation
A Core Practice of Comfort and Safety in the Sacred Lands of Sekhmet
This page offers a recording of a meditative journey to Tawy. In ancient Egypt, Tawy was the name of the homeland along the Nile, the land guarded and protected by Goddess Sekhmet. In our lineage, Tawy - Her Lands - is experienced as a place of comfort and safety because it is held under the protection of Sekhmet. This protection is inherent to the landscape itself.
The meditation is part of every ritual in our community. Early in each ceremony, we use this text to travel together into Her Lands to settle, feel supported, and arrive in the shared sacred space where the ritual unfolds.
Our temple members also use this recording on their own, returning to their personal place in Her Lands whenever they need a sense of grounding, protection, or a calm center.
The recording text follows the same gentle sequence we use in community. It begins with a simple breathing and relaxation practice, then offers a guided journey into the landscapes of Her Lands. There is time to find your own personal place there, to notice how it feels to be supported by Her Lands in safety, and to observe the landmarks that help you return whenever you choose. The meditation brings the journey to a close in a steady, grounded way.
You are invited to explore this practice at your own pace, visiting your personal place in Her Lands for grounding and comfort, or listening for the sense of shared mythic space it invokes when our community travels together into ritual.
