Sekhmet Temple
Welcome to our Community
❂Enter the Circle of Sekhmet
We are a living community devoted to Sekhmet, the lioness Goddess of Egypt: fierce Protectress, nurturing Mother, and Awakener of ecstasy. In the age of the pharaohs, worship was often centered in vast, state‑sponsored temples: monumental, male‑dominated, and exclusive. Yet in our dreams, another memory stirs, of smaller sanctuaries where the fire burned in open courtyards, bordered by stone, with altar and hearth at the center. In these spaces, priestesses tended the flame, served the community as shamans and midwives, and welcomed all who came to seek the Goddess. Here, worship was alive with fire, song, and dance.
A spoken welcome from within the Temple - an invitation into who we are and the way we practice.
🌍 Who We Are
It is this vision that we carry forward, not relics of the past, but living thresholds into power, renewal, and connection. This is a mixed‑race, queer‑affirming, gender‑expansive, sex‑positive, trauma‑aware circle open to all who seek the Goddess, and especially to those who have felt pushed to the margins by race, by sexuality, by spirituality, or by the fractures of the world. Here, every body is holy. Desire is not shamed but honored; pleasure is not hidden but celebrated as sacred offering.
🔥 What We Practice
Our gatherings weave ancient myth, ritual, and embodied practice into a path of living spirituality and somatic renewal that honors Sekhmet in Her ancient cycle of destruction and healing, as the One who burns away what no longer serves and restores vitality to what is true. Like the priestesses of Her ancient temples, we tend the fire together, creating spaces of safety, courage, and transformation.
📜 How We Source Our Rituals
We walk with two kinds of knowing. We trust the felt experience of dreams, visions, and embodied encounters with Sekhmet. And we also study ancient artifacts, temple inscriptions, and the scholarship surrounding ancient Egyptian traditions. We recognize that these historic sources carry bias, shaped by the powerful who commissioned them, scarred by erasure from later rulers and religions, and filtered through the cultural assumptions of modern translators. With discernment, we choose what resonates with Sekhmet as She is revealed to us, weaving scholarship and vision into rituals that are both rooted and alive.
🌟 Why We Gather in Community
Because we crave community. Because we believe that art and ritual are not separate from life, but doorways into it. Because in a world that fractures us, we choose to remember our wholeness. We return together to these practices month after month, year after year, letting the rhythm of devotion shape us into a people who grow together over time. Above all, we gather to stand in the presence of Sekhmet Herself, to feel Her fire, to embody Her power, and to let Her fierce compassion shape us into a people of courage, renewal, and long-term spiritual belonging.
🙏🏽We welcome you to join us in this circle
If you feel called to walk with us, the simplest beginning is to attend one of our monthly community Sekhmet Ritual Meditations, where we gather in devotion, attune to Her presence, and enter the practices that shape this living temple. Bring your voice, your story, and your devotion into the temple of Sekhmet. This is not just a community. It is Her living temple.
